I am assisting in the sale of this great car! I was the former owner and restored much of the interior as well as all mechanicals. Below you will read the extensive list of what took place. In addition, the current owner (Ed) had new seats and carpet and specialty wheels and tires installed. The car is located in Chicago and is in extraordinary mechanical shape (all new underneath!). What remains is bright work and paint job. You can trust this car to drive coast to coast today and is "turn key" in this regard.
Please feel free to call me first (Tony: 203-223-1778) with questions about mechanicals etc. Then I ask that the sale arrangement is discussed with Ed (773-890-8262) directly. Below I provide two lists of what has transpired with the car. The first is the origninal list of all work accomplished. The second list shows the newer items that Ed added to add significant value to the project. Thank you in advance.
1965 Lincoln Continental (for sale)
($24,000.00 invested along with more than 3,000 hours labor, 3.5 years at night and on weekends – and I lost two fiancés! And I am NOT kidding)
ATTENTION! The note above regarding $24,000 was BEFORE current owner installed new upolstry, interior carpet set and specialty wheels and tires. See below for comments regarding added $$ spent.
The Vin number for this car is: 5 Y 8 2 N 4 1 3 6 4 8
I had a friend look it up and apparently this car was driven by Ford Executives after is was produced.
PREFACE:
The term “restoration” is often used loosely. Also, you will find that most cars get a pretty paint job first and leave all the hard stuff last. This car is restored on the bottom first! All the hard work is done and what remains is the easier to handle common items such as paint job and carpets and seat covering material. Note that this car can be driven to California today with the turn of a key as though it was a new car from 1965. Further, there are improvements that were accomplished that will make the work last a long time! Please read on and feel free to call me with questions and know that the full mechanical restoration and beautification of the entire workings of this car was done thoughtfully and thoroughly.
Sincerely,
Tony Kotula
