1962 Lincoln Continental 4 Door Suicide Door Convertible.
I want to say that my brother and I hate to sell this car, I have owned this car with my brother for nearly 15 years and it has been unbeliveable to own this fine piece of Americana on wheels. It is now time to pass this car on for others to enjoy. We have recently purchased and RV and it doesn't make much sense to have both and not to mention, we need the room.
This Lincoln drives very well at all speeds, straight, shifts nice and sounds nice and quiet. The 430 c.i. motor starts right up and goes like it should. All of the drivetrain is original to this car, only the seats have been re-upholstered in the same color as original, newer matching carpet and has been repainted the original Riviera Blue color.
On the inside, the car is very clean, nice odor and no rips or tears on the seats or carpet. The dash is a splendid design and is in grat condition with all the accessories, gauges, dials and climate controls work well. The heat works great and the A/C was just serviced and blows cold. The original AM radio sounds pretty good for the time period, wipers work, the power windows, power vent windows and power locks are operable. Over time I have made sure everything works throughout.
On the outside, the paint is pretty nice, great shine and nice luster, no peel, no fade but some scratches and minor dings normal for an older classic like this. There is very little if any rust, the body is super solid and no filler to my knowledge. The doors, hood and trunk close and open as they should and fit well. The top is in good condition, no rips or tears and opens and closes easily with the original power top switch and mechanisms, very rare for these cars. the tires are classic bias ply tires correct for this car and look great, the wheel covers are original.
Mechanically, this car is all there, drives nice and smooth with ease of power brakes, power steering and a great view of the road through the wrap-around windscreen. The car brakes straight and is secure and safe. The transmission shifts like it should and goes into gear easily. The motor is responsive and motors this Lincoln right down the road. The undercarriage is solid too, floorboards are solid and original, just surface patina on frame and no rust through or repairs to be seen. Mileage believed to be 72000 original miles.
