Car has a clear Tennessee title with no liens. Call me at 901-389-7965 with any questions.
1968 Lincoln Continental with Suicide Doors located in Memphis, Tennessee. I am the second owner of the car, and it has 66,300 original miles on it. The car has a 460 V8 and runs and drives good. The car came from the factory with the following: Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Power Locks, AM Radio with Power Antenna. The car was originally purchased by the owner of a Lincoln Dealership in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After he died in the 1970's, the car sat in a combination of the garage, carport, or driveway during this time. I bought it last year to restore, but I have not had the time to dedicate to it. I have a lot of the original paperwork and I also have the original owners card, owners manual, etc.
To try to cover everything as accurately as possible, I am going to list everything covering the new items installed, the good, and the bad.
NEW ITEMS INSTALLED OVER THE PAST YEAR
-Edelbrock 1406 Carburetor
-4 New BF Goodrich Revolution Tires
-Brakes
-Spark Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Points, etc
-Alternator
-Battery and cables
-Rebuilt all 4 window motors
THE GOOD
-Body is in great shape as well as all the trim. The inside of the trunk lid still looks like it came from the factory. There is a small ding on the left rear quarter and at some point had some bondo on the right rear quarter panel. The car is 99.9% rust free. There are some very small areas of surface rust.
-The car runs good and has been used as a daily driver since everything has been installed. The car still has the original motor and transmission. Since Ford still makes these parts, most of them can be bought at your local parts store.
-The headliner and carpet are in great shape. I would rate them as very good to excellent. The dash is in great condition except for one small crack at the speaker grill
THE BAD
-The paint is very faded and has a lot of surface scratches. It definitely needs to be repainted. There is very limited prep work that would need to be done to get it ready for paint.
-The motor only has 66,000 miles on it, but since it sat for so long it does leak a little oil. The car does not smoke while driving (sometimes while warming up some oil will burn off the exhaust). Also, there sounds like there is an exhaust leak on the right manifold. The sound mostly goes away once it is warmed up.
-The leather seats have become brittle and cracked. The seats will need to be reupholstered. The back seats are in decent shape, but the drivers seat leather is completely damaged. The seats are still structurally sound and comfortable though!
-The windshield has a small crack the size of a dime.
-The drivers window and the right rear passenger window are the only two windows that work with the switches. The passenger from window will go down, but will not come back up except if you apply power directly to the motor. All four window motors were rebuilt and work perfectly. The problems rests in the switches. I have removed one switch and tested it in all 4 doors and they all work. The new owner will need to invest in getting the switches rebuilt or buying replacements on ebay or select online parts stores.
I know I am forgetting some details, there is just way too much to list. If you have any questions, or just want to see some additional pictures, please email me through eBay and I will give you my phone number to call me.
