This is a MCC (motor carriage concepts) replica Lotus super seven. I
am selling it for a friend who is not able to answer questions due to
health. The kit was purchased new from MCC in Ontario Canada around
2000 as a partialy built kit including proprietary frame suspension and
brakes for $11,000 US funds. The Owner then spent thousands more and
many hours building it up to the level it is now at. It is powered by a
German ford V6 2.8 litre from the Capri. coupled to a 5 speed overdrive
gearbox. The intake consists of a Paxton SN2000 supercharger in
conjunction with a Weber 45 DCOE 152 carb. I don't have a complete
history on the drivetrain but knowing the builder and judging by how
clean it is everything seems very new or rebuilt. Although it has
never been completely finished it does run and drive. It has been
sitting indoors for the last five years or so. I did get it started and
the engine sounded good with no unusual knocks or problems, The intake
system was never completely sorted out and will definetly need further
attention (probably changing jet sizes etc). I drove it around the
block once and the clutch, brakes gearbox etc all work perfect. It is
EXTREMELY!!!! fast, but definitely needs more fine tuning.
the quality
of his workmanship is extremely high. He is a true master. lots of
little touches set his cars (and bikes) apart from other home/kit built
cars. The wiring, electrics, plumbing etc are all very well done. Most
electrics seem to be working a few gauges where not. The body, a mix of
aluminum and fibreglass is in excellent condition, most parts are in
primer and ready for paint. There is some nice wood work around the
back. leather bonnet straps. 6 brand new Michelin MXV tyres, 2 new
brooklands windscreens.
the Interior is in mostly nice
condition although it is very spartan as it should be. Seats look very
new. Wood dash is nice but has one stray saw mark near the steering
column (woops). Instruments appear to be from a Fiat. and the nice
aluminum switch panels are home made (although they don't look it). It
has dual side exhausts with mesh covers to prevent getting burnt. Has a
very healthy exhaust note. The foot pedal area is very narrow. I was
able to drive it o.k. (and I have wide feet) but if I was going to
finish it I would probably make some changes there.
Please
note that for ebays purposes I had to make up a year and vin number for
the car. It was actually built in the last ten years and as it was
never finished has not been assigned a title or vin number yet. It does
come with many reciepts and of course a bill of sale that will enable
you to get it titled and licensed after it is finished and inspected.
This process varies from state to state so you should check with your
local state patrol for your states requirements if you have questions.
I can offer some other suggestions for getting it licensed but please
keep in mind it does not come with and has never had a Title.
please
remember this is an unfinished project although it isn't far from being
done it will take some work to finish. Few cars can match the Lotus 7
layout for pure fun and driving pleasure.
I recommend and encourage an inspection by appointment before bidding or buying. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Buyer is responsible for shipping if required, I will help however i can.
