I believe I am the second owner of this 1974 Lotus Elite. The original owner performed a 215 Buick V8 (Rover V8) conversion. I purchased the car in 1995 and as you can see from the tag it was last on the road in 1997. I began the process of stripping for paint and new interior, but lost focus and car has sat garaged since 1997. This week I installed battery and confirmed car runs and drives. Lights, power windows, wiper, gauges seem to operate fine. Brakes stop the car, but need to gone over as car has sat for a very long time. AS WITH ANY CAR THAT HAS BEEN STORED FOR 12 PLUS YEARS DO NOT EXPECT TO DRIVE IT HOME. Engine is a 215 buick v8 with an offenhauser intake and Carter 4 barrel carb, a remote oil filter is fitted as well. Transmission and drivetrain are original to the car. Car originally had air conditioning and controls and evaporator are present, but will need compressor and condensor. Original purple gelcoat is deteriorated and the original interior needs to be recovered. Body is fiberglass (no rust) and shows no signs of collision damage. Interior is complete and has been placed back in car for shipping. All fragile aluminum trim has been removed and placed inside car for shipping. I am including the original Owners Manual, Workshop Manual & a multi page color dealer ship brochure. Not shown in the photos but included is Spare wheel and radio that came with the car. That car has the factory 5 speed transmission.
OK Ebay removed my prior listing 220504540534 for stating it wasnt certain models, despite it ending up in those categories. I apologize for this inconvenience. |
