1988 Mercedes 300TE Wagon in Great Shape!
This car belonged to me for 3 1/2 years. A friend of mine who's son (who whe shall call "Mario") managed to total 3 cars in 1 year. Young Mario needed an inexpensive car to get around in and bought this one from me. This was to be his 4th car in 12 months until his new insurance bill arrived. Young Mario is now a pedistrian because he can't afford the insurance. His inability to avoid accidents is your gain! Below is the description:
Very sharp looking wagon. California car all it's life so there is No Rust !! Sheepskins on the front seats are very comfortable with NO rips in the upholstry at all. This car is a terrific highway cruiser. Just set the cruise control, sit back and relax. 2 things do not work on this car (1) Antenna does not go up and down correctly (2) sunroof. The sunroof will tilt up but do not slide it back as the track is not right. The sunroof motor is fine it's just the track inside is screwed up. There is a tear in the headliner on the sunroof panel where the track ripped the headliner. (see photo) It does leak a few drops of trans fluid overnight. Tires are excellent and this car handles great. The hydraulic suspension has had the "bags" replaced a couple years ago and it works perfectly if you have a heavy load to move. In the past few years it has had a new radiator, serpentine belt, valve cover gasket, head gasket, flex disc, front brake disks & pads & just tuned up. This is a good little vehicle for someone looking for a good used car.
I enjoyed this car very much during the 40 months I owned it and know that it will get 25.5 mpg on the highway if driven at 60mph. Not bad for a 20 year old car. Please email with any questions you may have. |
