Hello, I am selling my 1979 MERCEDES BENZ 450 SEL 6.9 Liter MODEL, even bigger than the current 6.3 for the 2008 model year.(features dry-sump lubrication normally found on FERRARI's and LAMBORGHINI's). The guy that I bought this car from actually had a FERRARI that he was driving, when he met me to show me/(no lie, there is a FERRARI shop about 20 miles form my house, I would have NEVER known where it was, had I not met up there.) /the car. I had to put a NEW fuel pump in it. I thought it used 2 like most, but it only took 1, so it comes with a spare fuel pump. This car runs and drives. The engine and transmission are perfect. I GUARANTEE AND WARRANTY AGAINST ANY ENGINE BEARING AND OR ANY HYDRAULIC LIFTER NOISE, The engine fires up every morning with no smoke output, and is super smooth. Idles completely smooth @ 850 RPM, with no misfires, shaking, or hiccups. The engine has no leaks. This engine has kept me in amazement, and I am a BMW guy. This is the perfect find for someone with any mechanical inclination, or not, you don't need to be able to work on cars, per say, because this one already runs perfectly. Yes, I said perfectly. I risk my "feedback" and POWER SELLER STATUS if I make false claims, the references made in my ad are true statements!! The automatic transmission has no leaks. The pneumatic height adjustable suspension still works, when I got it, it was sitting (chassis) flat on the ground, I got it to raise up, via combination of buttons and switches, and It raised up nice, amazing actually. I don't know how I got it to raise up, and I don't know how to get it to go back down. I don't have the original owner's manuals. I move it and park it every morning, so I can vouch for the mechanical condition. Cosmetics is really the only thing that this car needs. I wish you could hear this thing run before you buy it. It runs SO good. I warranty the engine and transmission to work with no problems upon receipt. The accelerator linkage is a little stiff from rust, it was sitting before I acquired it. Still revs nicely from under the hood. I will try to locate and include a better replacement linkage before the sale, if not, the vehicle will be sold as is. All in All, this is a good restoration project vehicle. There is a little tiny bit of rust, but none of it is structural, and is shown in the pictures. I have a clean CA title for this car in hand.
P.S> The tape player and radio still work, and 3/(driver need new switch) /of the 4 power windows work currently, the sunroof works, Interior and exterior lights work. Brake lights work. Pictures show engine when it is running, the oil pressure and temp gauge show perfect parameters.
P.S.S> If you are concerned about shipping...This car is perfectly capable of driving onto a trailer or tow truck or carrier under its OWN power.
