Up for auction is a super rare 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350sl. I am just the third owner of this vehicle. When I purchased it, it was dark blue, and so unattractive that I stripped all the paint and changed the color to its current red. A few sections of the floor were cut out and new sections welded in place, but the rest of the body was remarkably rust free. The front and rear bumpers were rechromed, and most of the remaining chrome was either replated or replaced with new pieces. The interior is original (M-B Tex) and is great shape. Both front and rear carpets were replaced with new. The matching hard top is in good shape, with only a very small tear in the headliner. There is a slight howl, but from what I have been told, this is somewhat typical. It does need a right side window regulator (easy fix), right side turn signal assmbly and exhaust. The air conditioner worked fine, right up to the moment when the blower motor expired.
All in all, it is a great driver and virtually rattle-free.
I have set the reserve at a realistic amount, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 513-503-4300.
Thanks and good luck....
