Vehicle History:
Paula's Aunt purchased this car as a new vehicle in 1964 and was driven very little as indicated by the low original miles 5247. The car was stored in a barn after Eathel became unable to drive in 1997. I purchased the car from Eathel in 2004 and other than being dust and cobweb covered it was in very good condition requiring only a battery replacement to get it running. The brake wheel cylinders were frozen and were replaced as were the master cylinder, brake shoes and lines. Features include a 260ci. V8 engine with a two speed automatic transmission, power brakes and original paint.
Body and Trim:
The body is very straight with the only dings being two 3 inch depressions on the passenger side top where a shovel fell onto the roof. The factory paint is solid but faded and shows several rock chips mostly concentrated on the nose of the car. The body is rust free. All chrome trim is attached and is in good condition with the exception of a small dent in the drivers side body molding. Bumpers both front and rear are dent free and in good condition. Grill and front and rear trim rings are in good condition.
Engine and Mechanicals:
The 260 V8 runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly in all gears. Water pump has been replaced as have ignition and brake parts. The heater core has been bypassed due to a small leak and will require replacement for the heater to be functional. The engine compartment shows its age and would need cleaning and paint to bring it to show condition. All lights are functional. Wipers work in all speeds. Under carriage shows mostly surface rusting the exception being the front cross member that has heavy rust but is still solid. Tires are 10 years old but show very little wear.
Interior:
Seat upholstery is in very good condition. Carpet is in good condition. Headliner looks like new. Dash vinyl has some minor wrinkles due to age related shrinkage. Steering wheel paint has sun faded and worn. Drivers side door panel and arm rest shows some wear. Radio is missing tuning knob and is not working. Dash chrome is in new condition. overall interior is very clean.
