Rare Home Office Reserve Car (Code '84) on body plate. This highly optioned Mercury was built for a Mercury Corporate executive in 1965, before the 1966 models came out it was released for sale to the general public. The car was on the road (a daily driver) from 1965-1976. The 1976 PA inspection sticker is still on the window!! Since then, it was started regularly and driven rarely. He always did maintenance, such as batteries, plugs, wires, brakes, oil change, etc.
The car has 98,413 original miles!! A TRUE SURVIVOR vehicle. The Marauder is equipped with its original numbers matching drive train, 390/300 HP 4-barrel Super Marauder Motor, twin range multi-drive trans and rear. None were ever rebuilt or out of the vehicle.
The Parklane was Mercury's top of the line car that year, which comes with many options standard, but being a Home Office Corp. car, it was jazzed up with a lot more options. Bucket seats, automatic trans, console, factory tachometer, cruise control, power steering, power brakes, factory dual exhaust, AM-FM radio, remote control side mirror, trip odometer, deluxe spinner wheel covers, door-edge guards, vinyl top, tinted glass, courtesy light group, padded instrument panel, padded visors, trailer tow package, studio sonicrear seat speaker, vacuum-operated automatic parking brake, elapsed time clock, special body trim, deluxe stearing wheel, intermittent wipers & many other less notable options on car, too many to list all!!!
Paint is in great shape for 30+ years old, original paint is still under the hood, trunk and in door jambs (the trunk lid picture shows sealer around seams from factory, it is not rust). Trunk pan is rock solid, a little surface rust but most of what you see is factory sealer and padding from the trunk mat stuck to trunk floor pan.
Body is super straight and retains all of its original panels. The glass is all perfect & correct. Interior is unbelievable in this car, the design was way ahead of its time, the condition is incredible!!! Floor boards & frame are perfect, no rust. The original rims & spinner wheel covers for the car go with it & are in the trunk.
The car still has its original exhaust on it and original vinyl top which is well-weathered.
This is a SUPER CAR, unbelievable condition. Ready to go or show. Great cruiser with BIG BLOCK POWER!
