Here is an all original matching numbers complete 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible that has been completely restored and documented as such in 1991. It comes with the original purchase order with all the options listed (Incredible) and two large file boxes of documentation as to the restoration and it's history. Also this Cougar has full documentation of every owner since it was first purchased by Dodge Olmsted of Arlington, Va at O'brien and Rahall Mercury in Fairfax, Va. May 2, 1969. The record and maintanance on this vehicle is unsurpassed to any classic car I have ever owned.

To start it has the original true and correct 351W 4bbl that it was born with and all original and correct components. To include: Factory Power Steering, Power Brakes (front disc), Whisper Air Conditioning (blows cold), It starts, runs, and shifts very strong! The top shows mint and goes up and down smoothly with the press of a button (with cover boot). The original am radio works flawlessy as it should. All the dash gauges to include the infamous querky tach, works great! The windows go up and down smoothly and it comes with two sets of functional keys including the glove box. It had a $5,535.78 maintenance or heart procedure done within the last 2,500 miles. Which included restoring the brake booster, master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes, battery, plugs, trans kit, upper control arms and lower control arms, upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, sway bar line kit, sway bar bushings, a/c freon charge, complete valve job, replaced radiator fan and shroud with nos parts, replaced all coolants and thermo gasket, front calipers, carb rebuild and overhaul, fuel pump, fuel filter, oil change, machined rotors, rotate all tires and complete front end alignment, grease fittings, points, condensor, hoses, to include bypass hose, belts, starter solenoid, air filter, PC valve, vacuum canister, and voltage regulator. I could fill up two additional pages with other maintenance items. If it was remotely showing wear, it was either replaced or serviced. The body and paint is very nice and presentable with only a few small knicks which I will touch up before it is picked up. The original trunk mat needs replaced. I am certain of it's reliability and can be driven across the country without any issues. Just fly into Dulles airport, (10 minutes from me and the Cougar) I'll pick you up and drive it home. There are no hidden agenda's here just a really nice and very rare classic Cougar that needs a new home. NADA Value shows Low: $14,938 Avg: $28,625 High: $48,500. I feel my reserve is very fair for a car of this caliber. Save yourself the headache, stress, and $$$$. I am not a dealer therefore can not warranty. It is sold as is where is. If your bid or bids need inspection, do so before bidding, once the auction ends inspections do not negate the obligation to your winning bid. That said bid to win on this rare one to remember XR7 Convertible.
