1967 Cougar XR7
"A" code 4spd
This is an original and very rare optioned Cougar XR7 "A" code 289 4V 4spd and 9" 3.00 LSD. Look at the appraisal and options list, which I have included in the pictures. I bought this car from the second owner, who states that the mileage is original, 96,000 miles. I was told the car had always been garage stored by the first owner. He had the original engine rebuilt and a new clutch installed, which I have receipts for. He also put new 4 piston calipers and 4 new tires on the car. The car was purchased in the early 00's buy a collector/restorer who is a Mustang guy but could not resist the originality and rarity of this car. He put it in a sealed storage container until this year, when I got it. It is originally from Edmonton, Alberta. I have some of the original paper work from the owners manual showing dealer service records. This car runs and drives great as is but obviously is one worth restoring to show quality. The car has had repair work already done to the floors and it has been undercoated. There has also been repairs done to the rockers and rear quarters. I was told the original owner had all the work done at a body shop in the late 90's and the car was in primer when he took it out and never painted it, it has been in primer ever since but stored inside. The cowls were checked for leaks to the interior, which they did not, and then they where sealed up, as they still are now. The appraisal gives a good picture of the condition of the cars interior, which, other than needing a very good cleaning, definitely needs seat upholstery. The rest of the interior is quite good, other than someone cut the console to dash piece for an after market radio/CD player, which has been removed but the original radio is included. The car has the original wheels, five of them as thespare is matching, but the center caps are missing. It is also missingthe rear antenna and the mercury emblems for the front and rear. Someone is going to get a very good deal here, as there was only 5% of Cougars that were 4 spd cars and with fuel prices now this 289 car, but still a performer with the "A" code 4V, should attract allot of interest. This car will be sold "AS IS", it is a 41 year old car that has no warranties. Any interested parties can contact me for more pics and any more info I have.
