This car is an all original 1967 Mercury Cyclone. It was bought off the show room floor on 9/1/67 from E.M. Stivesr Inc. in St. Louis, MO; being Cardinal Red with polar white top. She said they had to have it! The car came with the standard 289 2BL select-shift merc-0-matic WSW 775x14 4PL/RTD Rayon Tires, power steering, power brakes. Whisper-Air condtioner. AM radio with antenna, tinted glass. cyclone wheel covers. Had a list price of $3699.74.
The Cyclone has had 1 repaint about 16 years ago in the original colors all interior is the original and actually pretty nice. The worst flaw is the headliner has 2 or 3 dime size holes by the sun visors. Dash has no cracks just minimal fading on top. The car has been garaged most of its life, which has helped preserve it. Seats, carpet, chrome on dash and visors are great. AM radio plays and has a pull to switch from front to back speaker. Really nice original interior. Under the hood is the original 289 2BL with everything it came with. The motor runs great, shifts great, no leaks, no odd noises, no smoke, and power steering and power breaks are great. Select-sift merc-o-matic works great too! AC blows and was switched to R134. the Car runs good and is easy and fun to drive!
The outside stainless windshield and back glass trim are excellent, along with the grill and headlight trim. Bumpers are straight and solid with little fading but original and good. All glass is great, rear tail panel chrome has some pitting but complete and original. The cyclone still has the original spare, jack, trunk mat, and trunk fillers in it!! Some rust starting in tail lite panel, see pictures. Again, the car has had 1 repaint that still looks really good with a small bubble on each door corner in the same spot, also see pictures, about the size of a thumb nail. The paint still shines good both red and white. Still has original cyclone wheel covers and new radial tires. The car was serviced regularly at the local Ford dealer. in December 1994 it had 130651 miles on it. It was sold to the second owner is 8/00 and was still kept in a garage. It now has 131138 miles on it. As you can tell, in 14 years its not been driven much, but always garaged. The original owner had it for 33 years and loved the car! The car comes with original window sticker warranty card, owners manual, service manual, and a copy of the originaly title. I think it is a survivor with a repaint on it. It is as original and complete as I've seen. The car is 41 years old, not perfect, and near original.
