Vehicle Description

You are bidding on a 1965 MG Midget Mark II with the 1098cc engine. '65 was the last year for the MK II.   I am posting it on ebay for a friend who is another member of the local British Car Club.  We are told that MG sometimes used available parts at the end of a production run, and one of those left over parts MAY  have been the Sprite grille that is installed in this car.  That's the theory anyway.  The car runs well.  Having an antique car that gets excellent gas mileage is definitely a plus.

Overall the car is in good shape.  A Weber 30/32 Carburetor has been installed in place of the original SUs (which are included with the sale).  The Weber gives a definite improvement in performance and starting.   As you can see from the picture, it holds good oil pressure at idle, even when warmed up.  The temp is a tad higher than normal  just because it had been sitting for a couple of minutes before being restarted  just for that picture. The square end  of the speedometer cable is rounded off, but the speedo works when turned by another means.   The true mileage is unknown.

There is no rust in the floorboards or the trunk.  That's a big deal for these cars. There is a tiny area of rust in the left rear wheel arch where the former owner got just a little too close to something and scraped some paint off, starting the process, and a little spot near the left tail light.

In addition to the SU carbs, other miscellaneous parts of unknown quality include a starter and generator. There is also an original owner's manual in a binder, an MG/Sprite restoration manual, and a Haynes workshop manual.  The outside mirrors are new re-pro.  There is also a very good wire wheel.

Rather than sending e-mails through ebay to me (the poster) please ask any questions you might have before bidding to the OWNER  at jmmagyar@cox.net  Going through me and ebay will delay any answers by at least 24 hours as I'd have to contact him and wait for his reply.  Again, please contact the owner, not the poster.

This car is offered without any warranty, expressed or implied.  The buyer will be responsible for any shipping expense.  The seller WILL NOT SHIP THE CAR, although he is willing to take it anywhere in Wichita Kansas for pickup by the transporter of your choice.  He will CONSIDER delivering it within a four hour drive of Wichita Kansas for his expenses.

The owner of this car has told me that he has a paypal account, although he does not sell on ebay. As the poster, I do not have paypal and will not be getting an account. If you would like to pay by using paypal, he will furnish the info for making payment into HIS paypal accont at the close of the auction.  At that point the poster/seller, MG McAnick, will be out of the loop and the transaction will be between the buyer and the owner.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CAR IS A 1965 AS STATED ABOVE, NOT A 1964 AS STATED IN THE MAIN TITLE.  Ebay will  not allow me to correct that date since the car already has a couple of bids.  Apparently I spun my mouse wheel while I was still in the year field making the orginal post.  At least I had it right in the original description.   I didn't notice it until now, but it still has eight days to run.  Besides, there is very little difference between a '64 and a '65.
