| This 1948 Plymouth was originally bought in southern Ohio and well maintain. The car was rustproofed when it started live in 1948 and was originally a battleship grey. The gentlemen I bought the car from said he was the third owner. He bought the car in July of 1995 so he could use it for his wedding. He dropped the car off at a High School in Cleveland Oh (Shaw) and had the Juniors & Seniors give the car the enamel paint job you see. The car had some body work done in front of rear fenders and behind front fenders (fiberglass etc.) they painted the whole car including door seals and trunk seals. The trunk has minor surface rust and a couple small holes in the corners. The floor was repaired in the back floor area with galvanized metal(works as was the bottom of spare tire well. The rockers will need repalced but with the trim in place it is hardly noticeable.The car will need a new ignition switch keys got lost by previos owner. The temperature guage and fuel guage do not work but all others do. It will need new speedometer cable (title states actual mileage) it broke when I took it out of storage this year but the speedometer head and trans drive both work. I have a rebuild kit for mastercylinder the master will bleed back if car sits but I have a new NAPA kit that comes with car (can be done in car no problem.)This is a great driver, now for the GOOD. The interior is in good original shape. The previous owner installed beige carpet over original floor mat. The the dash has not been painted and all the chrome inside is excellent. The AM radio works like a new one. The knobs on dash are real nice. The horn works. The car had turn signals installed many years ago they do not work but all other lights work great. tHe car just had a oil change and new Remington GoodYear tires this year (gold walls). This car runs great and is a nice 20 footer drive as-is or restore as you go. |
