Retired Judge, David Breck, purchased this Catalina over 25 years ago and has enjoyed it as a recreational car for many years. He believes that there were two owners prior to his purchase.
The paint is about 20 years old (repainted the original color) and still looks good overall (please note the expected chips, scratches, normal wear and tear marks, etc. Additionally, there is a “dinged” and chiped paint area on the drivers side at the top of the front fender as seen in the photos; the front grill on the drivers side has a couple of small missing pieces (as seen in photos); there has been filler used to repair previously rusted areas (after 20 years, it has held up). Judge Breck stated that he has no knowledge of prior accidents.
The undercarriage is typical for the year for a car that was used in Michigan winters for its first years and then stored most winters in its later years.
The interior is also in good condition overall, all of the material appears as original. The drivers seat has slight seam sparation and a hole as noted in the photo. The radio has been replaced with an aftermarket AM/FM stereo cassette and antenna.
The convertible top is in very good condition.
Mechanically, the brakes are the only known area that requires attention. We believe that a cylinder or a line is leaking because brake fluid has been added in the last two weeks. That is the only known concern and we welcome a mechanical inspection prior to the end of the auction. Receipts are available for work done on the radiator and water pump, the starter, a tune up (done 400 miles ago) including condenser, spark plugs, wires and air filter and the exhaust system.
Judge Breck has decided to sell because he doesn’t have use for the car any longer (only 400 miles last year!).
Judge Breck will sell it now to the best offer, with a minimum bid of $5,000.00, bidding to last for seven days.

Sales tax will be collected for Michigan residents and for those states residents where reciprocity applies and state law governs the collection of said tax. 5% Deposit due at end of auction, remaining balance due within 5 business days of end of auction.
