Hello you have found my listing for a 1979 10th annv Trans Am. Well 1st of all this is my baby. It has been in many shows over the last 2 years. I am VERY mixed on selling this car. I love it. But I want to build strictly a “show” Trans am, custom colors and such but don’t want to Hurt this one. So I’m going to list her here and see what Happens.
For those who don’t know these anniversary edition Trans am’s.
It is one of 5683 ever produced. And looking at the traders and on here estimate 2500 “good” cars still exist. This was the top of the line ta in 79 with all the options and a Big block 403 engine. It is the correct colors and paint scheme.
I bought the car march 2006. It was restored to its condition today. All matching #s down to the carb.
The under hood has a New hood pad, new battery- belts -altnator -egr valve-plugs-wires-ac compressor-chrome rad cap-chrome power steering cap-chrome battery cover-chrome bolt caps-stainless accents-braided hoses-chrome wire loom-all new decals-brake-pads-calipers-shocks-bushings-flow master 50 series duals with chrome trans am tips-new cables-ALL hoses-steam blasted and undercoated.
Exterior Was TOTALLY dissembled-striped to bare steel- etch primed-painted with Dupont paint and Dupont Shimmer clear.$$$$$ Car had NO rust as it was bought new in Virginia and garage kept all its life. NEVER WRECKED. New Phoenix Graphics-new door window laces new trunk seal-new grilles-new headlights-chrome hood scoop/fender vent accents (attached with double side tape no holes!!)chrome mud guards.
Interior was all striped all plastic that had been sun cracked was replaced and all was redyed the correct colors. New carpet-Alpine CD player and speakers. All power windows-locks rear defrost-trunk popper-all work well. As you see it does not have the vinyl seats because these were in it from another TA and looked awesome! I was going to have them recovered but no shop here would guarantee it not to have that rippled look most recovers have, so I left them glad I did.
Trunk New carpet mat. All new decals and seals. Spare and inflator have never been used. T-top bags are in good shape. NO NO rust in the floor or rear shackles at all.
Wheels Foose nitrous 18’s with Bf Goodrich Turing tas 235/50 zr18 sweet and smooth!
Again I am really torn on selling but really want to build another car. This car rides-drives and runs 100% let go of the wheel and she runs true! It has won its class in Every show she’s been in this year!
Only know issues 1- the kick down valve in the tranny wont kick down (passing gear). Its been that way for 2yrs and wont hurt nothing, with 403 you don’t need passing gear really!
2-heater blower motor has had bearing go out. Just needs 40$ motor installed.
