EXTERIOR:
The GM color that is found on newer Corvettes called Torch Red was selected to really set the car off. It was originally a Matador Red car. No hints of the original color can be found. It has had a very high quality paint job that was performed less than 200 miles ago. . The paint has very little to no orange peel. It looks better than the factory would have done back in 1969. The pictures show the details. The car did not require any patches when it was painted. New items to complete the exterior are: emblems, headlight trim, front grill, front bumper, front marker lights, front marker bezels, side marker lights, and the rear bumper. All new weather seals were installed after the car was painted.
The trunk compartment is clean and detailed. The undercarriage is very clean.
Please take time to view the additional pictures on my website listed above to see this Firebird in full detail. These are not blurry pictures like most people provide. I cover ever inch of this car in clear detail.
The new tires and wheels only have 200 miles on them. I put 275/40/17 BF Goodrich G-Force TA KDW tires on the rear and 245/45/17 BF Goodrich G-Force TA KDW tires on the front. The front and rear tires are the same height but the rears are a little wider to achieve the look I wanted. The wheels were special ordered. They are Hot Wheels and they are 17 inch diameter by 9 inches wide. This tire and wheel combination was carefully selected to give the car the right look without having any rubbing issues. I have tried other combinations of tire sizes and wheels and this was the best look in my opinion. They DO NOT rub!
I have tried to capture this Firebird’s beautiful paint in various shades of light. I have taken pictures in full sunlight, under trees in the shade, for reflections etc. I wanted to capture the way the car looks in different lighting conditions. Please see my website address listed above to see many different portrait settings. They are not duplicate pictures, just similar poses in different lighting conditions. Please take note of the reflections in the paint showing the mirror-like finish. This ad shows full body shots, body panel by body panel, detail close ups, full interior, engine bay from all sides, panel to panel alignment gaps, and under carriage pictures. I have covered every inch of this Firebird, as many sellers, DO NOT.
INTERIOR:
The interior is in very nice condition. No cracks or fading. No burn holes. No stains. No nasty odors. The dash panel, instrument panel, and lenses are in great condition. The front seats, rear seats, door panels, rear panels, and headliner are in very nice condition as well. The factory AM radio does not work. The horn does work. The dash lights work. It has factory seatbelts for the front and rear passengers.
MECHANICALS:
This Firebird can be driven anywhere! I would not hesitate to take this car out when it’s 90+ degrees out. There is no need to worry in driving this car. This car originally came from the factory as a 350HO car. It now has a 400 cubic inch engine looks stock. It has number “48” heads. The engine originally came out of a 1969 GTO it decodes as a: “WT” L67 400 cubic inch 350 horsepower, part number 9790071. The heads are the correct heads and date coded to the engine. These are the same heads that are found on Ram Air III engines. It has a new exhaust system from the manifolds back that feature Flowmaster mufflers on it. I had them add a little chrome tail pipe just poking out to finish it off. It has a killer sound to it! Turn up the volume on the videos to hear it!
All of the exterior lights light up and function properly. This car drives straight down the road with no pulling to either side of the road. The power steering works effortlessly without any slop in the wheel when driving. I just had a new steering box installed and the front end aligned. The transmission shifts perfect in all gears.
The car was previously an ac car. The unit is removed the blower is not hooked up.
MISCELLANEOUS:
If you are still reading this, you must be interested in this Firebird. I have tried to be as informative as I can without adding useless content to read. This car is not going to win against any trailer queens at the Trans Am Nationals. If you are looking for that, click away now. Please do not expect the car to be perfect because its not. It you want a perfect car, you will have to spend more $$$. This car has a lot of curb appeal to it. It draws people to it anywhere I take it.
