Exterior
The paint has some very minor blemishes, but it is still way above average for Porsches of this vintage. Please look at the photos carefully.
The tires are in great condition. The headlights, turn signals, horn, wipers etc, all work as they should. None of the lights are broken, even the side marker lights. All doors fit well and close easily with a satisfying "thunk."
Interior
For the age of the car, the interior is very clean. The seat upholstery is in great condition. This 912 has the original deluxe wooden steering wheel that was recently refinished. The original Blaupunkt 3 band radio currently does not work and may need servicing. The dash has the typical cracks in the top due to the California sun.
Powertrain and Drivability
The mileage on the chassis is approx 62,000 miles (that's 100,000 km's for our European friends). This car is in excellent running condition. The 1.6 litre 4 cylinder air cooled engine does not burn oil. It does not overheat. The dual carburators are properly adjusted and syncronized.
In the last few months, the following have been changed: Clutch, Engine Oil, Oil Filter, Fuel Filter, Generator Belt, Voltage regulator. All four disk brake calipers have been rebuilt. The break pads have approx 80% material remaining. The master cylinder was replaced about two years ago. The muffler and heater boxes are in good condition.
The engine runs great and can cruise all day at safe, freeway speeds (70MPH). I would feel comfortable immediatley driving this 912 accross country as it is.
The 5 speed transmission shifts smoothly and feels solid. It does not "grind," slip or make any funny noises. It had a recent transmission service using Swepco gear oil.
The steering feels solid and the alignment is good if you take your hands off of the steering wheel.

Vehicle must be picked up within 7 days unless seller agrees to other
arrangement. Seller reserves the right to end auction early if item becomes
no longer available. I have been an Ebay seller since 2001 and have sold

You can also fly to Oakland (OAK) or San Francisco (SFO) airport and drive it home yourself. I will pick you up at either airport. You can inexpensively get to Oakland on discount airlines such as
JetBlue or
Southwest (check
