1962 PORSCHE 356 B T6 1600S COUPE ALL NUMBERS MATCHING MATCHING NUMBERS ENGINE Body VIN #118956 Engine VIN #701204 In the past three years I have taken the little guy out of the garage for a ride maybe 5 times. Presently, my wife is very pregnant, and the coming of the baby, means that : The little guy is up for sale, Hopefully to a good home where he will receive all the love and action that he deserves………………………………. We purchased the vehicle from a Porsche enthusiast a few years past. He got the car from a Porsche Club member who had redone the car and was moving on. I just took the car out of the garage from last year, to take the photos for the auction. He started right up, as it always does. The engine runs great. It could probably use a tune-up for optimal performance. The valves were adjusted when we changed the oil last season. The Body as you can see from the photos is in very good shape. The lines of the front and rear lids and doors are all very good. I believe that the floor has been done because it is in such good shape, completely solid as is the battery floor area. I tried to show how good the floors were from a photo from below but you can’t really see. The carpets were worn and not in the best of shape, I took them out of the vehicle which enabled full clarity to see the wonderful integrity of the floors as shown in the photographs. I was planning to put in a new set of square weave German carpet this season, but I guess that will be the new owners’ pleasure. The front seats are original and worn, the past owner had put on the seat covers which show in the photos, the rear seats are in good shape but are missing the base cushions. One of the rear pop out vent windows has a small crack at the handle connection. Although the car looks great there are some chips/scratches in the paint. On the drivers front fender the paint has a crack about 3” long. The drivers door has a scratch down to the primer about 6” long. The hood, which I believe has never been kinked, has a few small stone chips at its leading edge. The Passenger door is blistering at the bottom and will probably need to be redone at some point. The car has the correct and fully functioning factory 6 Volt system. We replaced the battery last year with an Optima, Which I highly recommend. The Radio is the original Blaupunkt AM-FM The Headliner is in good shape. The Transmission shifts smoothly through the gears. All in All it is a good car and I will be sorry to see the little guy go. As with any 46 year old car this old guy is sold as is with no warranty offered or implied |
