PLEASE NOTE:RELISTED DUE TO NON PAYING BIDDER. Up for sale is a very nice 1979 Porsche 911 SC Targa featuring a sporty blue exterior with classic black interior. The car features a 6 cylinder air cooled engine along with a 5 speed transmission and runs and shifts great! It starts right up with no problem and is ready to drive just about anywhere. I recently drove it on a 300 mile trip with no problems at all. The air/smog pump has been removed to increase performance but all of the lines are intact should you need to reinstall one(in case you have tight emissions state inspections). The lights, horn, and odometer all work but the power windows are currently inoperable. I have purchased three swiches for the windows(since that is likely the problem) and will include them with the car. The car has power mirrors but the remote switch is missing. The air conditioning compressor belt is currently off the car, and a problem common to 911s is that the interior fans do not seem to be working. I have not isolated the problem with them yet but it seems to happen in quite a few cars from this era. Neither of these issues is a big deal if you like to drive with the Targa top off as that provides you with all natural AC! The Targa top is in great shape and comes off easily. The top comes equipped with the original tool and can be stored in the trunk while driving. The dash is in good shape as well as the interior carpet. The original PORSCHE floor mats still look quite nice as well! The car was originally brown but has been repainted blue and the original brown/black interior has had the brown components dyed black so that now it is all black. There is some chipping in spots to the paint but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance. Custom seats have been installed as well as a classic whale tail spoiler but all of these additions can easily be reversed so as the new owner desires. Original chrome Fuchs rims with Porsche logo caps are wrapped in virtually brand new Fuzion tires, and other than some chipping due to age look great! A Sony XPlod CD player has been installed along with Sony speakers and a new retractable antenna has been added as well. The glass all around is in nice shape and I cannot see any signs of rust around the car. The original key is still usable and I'm including a brand new Porsche replacement key. The original spare tire and tool kit are both included as well as the original owner's manual. A Hayne's Repair Manual as well as a Porsche 911 Buyer's Guide are included to give you some tips on what to look for with your new 911 purchase! It really is a solid 911 that is fun to drive which I have to unfortunately part with due to unexpected financial difficulties. The Virginia Title is clear and ready to transfer. The starting bid is set low and in the true auction spirit with NO RESERVE! Check out the book value at nada.com and you'll see that the low value on a '79 911 is right at $14000-use the buy it now and geat a deal! If you've ever wanted to own a Porsche now is your chance-don't miss this opportunity to buy a 911 and drive it away! Feel free to contact me with any questions and I will try and answer them to the best of my abilities. If you are a foreign bidder this could be a great opportunity for you as I don't have to tell you what these cars sell for overseas. A $500 deposit via Pay Pal is due at the end of the auction with the payment balance due via Pay Pal or through cash in person upon pickup. Foreign bidders are welcome and must secure your own method of transport. I will be happy to transport the car to a carrier or the loading docks of our port in Norfolk if so desired. Please do not bid if you don't intend to buy as negative feedback will be left to bogus winning bidders. Thanks and happy bidding!
