Here we have a drop dead example of a 1987 Porsche 944 turbo. This car still turns heads after 21 years. Just about everything has been refurbished on this Porsche- The car comes with all the service records from the day we bought the car. This car is pretty much stock with a couple of cosmetic upgrades along with a few performance upgrades.With Gas going to 4.00 a gallon this little 944 turbo gets 27MPG on the highway.
The interior shows little wear, it has new carpet, the seats were professionally recovered by one of the premiere auto upholsters in the mid west (Price in Cincinnati Ohio) the dash has no cracks and looks as new. We had the OEM steering wheel recovered in custom leather by AGLA out of Florida. The original sound system was upgraded to Alpine in 05. The leather on the doors & center console still looks great. The center cluster lights have been replaced along with just about every electrical switch on the car. The weather stripping is new on the sunroof, doors, hatchback, ect. The headliner is in perfect condition. All options work as they should. The sunroof has upgraded gears. You will also note that the entry sills were replace with Porsche logo stainless steel sills. You will also notice that the shifter & dash has also been nicely upgraded, a new leather shift boot has also been installed. I would say the interior is a 9.9 out of 10.
The exterior of the car again is in head turning shape- this car is the hit of the Porsche shows, it’s as nice as they come. The car was repainted by Steve Wertz out of Blue Ash Ohio- all the glass was removed for the paint job, along with all weather stripping. Mr. Wertz is the guy who repaints Bentley’s & Ferraris locally when they need work. The rear taillights were replaced along with any part that showed any wear what-so-ever, including the front windshield. The paint job is flawless, the car looks new. We upgrade the wheels to the chrome turbo’s however the original phone dials will come with the car. The calipers were also upgraded when the car was repainted. As you can see in the pictures this 944 is drop deal gorgeous. The car comes complete with a red car cover & a bra & mirror covers. We added 19” Carbon fiber PIAA spoiler wipers just to set off the look of the car.
Mechanically the car is sound- the clutch, pressure plate flywheel; fork & main seal was just recently replaced. We added a powder coated cam tower & fresh air intake pipes. We replaced the Porsche headers with Billy goal stainless 901/1.75” headers. The Kumho 255/40r17’ tires have about 70% tread life remaining. The majority of the hoses have been replaces along with the belts & water pump. The brakes were recently redone, we added cross drilled rotors to keep brake temps down. The A/C received an upgrade on 04. We upgraded the lower control arms in 06 with state of the art foreign intrigue Porsche equipment. We upgraded the engine mounts to the solid mounts. At 120K we replaced all stabilizers & sensors.
This car has a clean Carfax & is nice as any Porsche you will find on the road. You will not be disappointed with the car- enter your local car shows & expect a win. This car passed all State of Ohio Inspections when they were required. When you take this to a Porsche dealership the service guys will all gather around to see how nice an 87 can still look.
