FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION I HAVE FOR SALE A UNIQUE REPLICA OF A 1930 BENTLEY CONVERTIBLE. THIS CAR HAS CHARACTOR: The British green paint is the perfect color for the car, being a convertible/roadster doesn’t hurt a thing, the brown interior goes right with the paint, a car like this had to have wide white-wall tires mounted on real wire rims, the spare mounted on the side is way cool, the fog lights and dual horns look great, the running boards go perfect with the long nose and narrow fenders. I go to lots of big car shows and see lots of replica cars, but I have never seen a 1930 Bentley convertible. This car has plenty of power at highway speeds, its built on a 1967 VW chassis, sure this isn't a muscle car, but it has plenty of power to flow with the traffic and be safe. The VWs are used for many replica cars because they are priced reasonable, they are very reliable , you can buy  mechanical parts at your local parts store and they are very easy to work on.

PLEASE COME LOOK AT THIS CAR, TAKE A TEST DRIVE AND BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU BUY!

MECHANICAL: The chassis is a early 70s Volkswagon. The engine has been rebuilt and has plenty of power, it’s a 4 cylinder and is very reliable with no blue smoke and no rattles (I think its a 1600CC). Past owner just had a new valve job, new gaskets, but this is a VW it has some drops under it when parked, tune up and carburetor rebuilt “it runs great” The transmission is a 4 speed manual shift, it shifts very good and has no whines or growls and no slip. The brakes and steering are stock VW and in good condition. Brakes are about 5/8s pedal, works fine for me.

LIGHTS: The turn signals work, head lights work, tail lights and fog lights work. The inside turn signal indicators do not work.

SPEEDOMETER AND WIPERs WORK!

DUAL HORNS: They have the nostalgic sound and look, they have the UHOO---GA sound.

WHEELS AND TIRES: I think the wire wheels are early 30s Ford. The tires are good  and have wide white side walls.

GAUGES: Oil pressure and amp gauge are mounted in the dash and work. The gas gauge does not work. The gas tank is fabricated to fit just this car and has no sending unit. You could pull it and install a VW sending unit because a gauge is mounted in the speedometer cluster, but its no big deal to just to use a clean wood stick to measure like the old days of this car. The gas tank fill neck is the radiator cap, I just look down straight into the tank and see how much fuel is in the tank. The cap have a fake temp gauge built in “a real cool feature”.

BODY: Very thick fiberglass and not cracked up.

PAINT: It has character, its not the perfect/pristine paint like on a $60,000 show car. It is dulling  in places, it has some touched up chips, but no dents  and of course no rust. Several places on the edge of the panels have touched up chips. Under close inspection on the hood you can see the faint letters 1930 BENTLEY, its sort of like ghost flames style , my son thinks its cool and I don’t have a problem with it. The paint is plenty good for this car, its just not show car quality, its makes the car believable.

BRIGHT WORK: Bumpers have a good shine and not peeling or rusty, but has some tiny pits. Grill shell shines very good, but has a couple of cracks, headlight housing have been painted, hubcaps are painted.

INTERIOR: Decent interior, some corners are worn and it is dull in places.

TOP: Top is very usable, but is old. It was rolled up loose in my pictures, it could use 2 straps, one on each side to make it roll a little neater. No back window and no side curtains come with the car.

UNDERSIDE:  Not detailed for show, but no rust problems.

HOW FAST WILL TO CAR GO? It will curise at 50 to 55 miles per hour no problem.

TITLE: Car is titled as a 1930 Bentley, I have the clear Tennessee title in hand.

INSPECTIONS: Inspections are welcome, but must be done before the listing ends. I place a 21 day listing, this gives plenty of time to get an inspection done if you wish to have one. Please come and look your self “that’s the best”, but if you want an independent inspector they are welcome. After you buy the car it’s yours, please do your research, inspections and planning.

PICTURES: This car looks good in person, but my pictures make it look better than it really is. Beware of internet pictures, they usually make cars look better than they are. You want fine many perfect cars for a give away price, beware if you do. This car is worth my price, but its not perfect, its just good car to have lots of fun with.

â€śPLEASE DON’T BUY ON IMPLUSE” Come look and ask questions.

HOW TO CONTACT ME:  Ron Watson, my cell number is 423-506-8987. I do not answer when I’m meeting with someone “it’s not polite”, I do not answer when driving in heavy traffic, I do not answer after about 8:00 Eastern Time at night, I usually don’t answer on Sunday. Please just leave a voice mail if I do not answer and I will call you back. I do check my emails a couple of times a day.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME AND FOR ANY REASON, THIS CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET AND I NEED TO BE ABLE TO STOP THE LISTING IF SOMEONE IS HERE AND WANTS TO BUY IT.

â€śPLEASE DON’T BUY ON IMPLUSE” Come look and ask questions. I will be happy to spend as much time with you as you need to inspect the car and take a long test drive. Please call in advance and set up a time.

WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED:  The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles below Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. I WILL ONLY PICK YOU UP AT THE AIR PORT UNLESS THE CAR IS PAID FOR IN FULL, I HAVE MADE TOO MANY WILD GOOSE CHASES! RENTAL CARS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE AIRPORT!

WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM:  My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. I am 63 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 37. I am now retired and living my dream restoring and improving classic cars. I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens for many years. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE!

US TRANSPORT:  “No problem”, I can recommend a very large company, McNutt Auto Transport Service 800-755-2324 . I also have contact with a one man hauler that hauls one car in an enclosed trailer. Of course they both have all the required insurance.

PAYMENT: If you do not come in person and pay the old school way, I only take wire transfer from a Federal Reserve bank to my Federal Reserve bank.

Thank You for looking, call with questions, my cell is 423-506-8987

Ron Watson

LET ME BE VERY CLEAR: I was asking $8,999 for the car, and the lowest I will take is $7.999. No trakes, its just to hard.

Call if you have interest Ron Watson 423-506-8987.
