| | Vehicle Description |
| This was the last year for the Sonett. Hidden Headlamps! Very collectable and rare!!! 1500 cc Taunus V4 engine!! ....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_Sonett ....I have owned the vehicle for about 10 years, and it has been in a carport or garaged during my ownership. It has approximately 91K miles....When I first purchased the car it had approximately 65K miles on it, Swedish Automotive in Denver did extensive mechanical maintenance work including: a transmission rebuild, installation of transmission silencer from Jack Ashcraft’s Vintage Saab Parts, along with a new release bearing, clutch and pressure plate. Also they did valve adjustment, installation of new plug wires and cap, installation of new motor mounts, installation of a rebuilt fuel pump, replacement of heater hoses and clamps, installation of a variety of gaskets, brake inspection and adjustment, the installation of a new exhaust system, installation of a new fan bearing, application of undercoat protection, and a full tune.......... The steering is very tight, the interior is in very good condition, the glass is clear, the rubber bumpers are in good shape, there is no rust, and the clutch master cylinder has just been replaced with a rebuilt one purchased from Jack Ashcraft..........The paint is mostly original with no known accidents. However, Swedish Automotive in repairing a small two inch crack on the top of the passenger side door, rather than touching up this very small section as instructed, mistakenly ended up painting the entire passenger side door and the color did not match. I complained, and they said they could blend it. They then ended up painting the entire rear end of the car. Their claim that they could "blend" it did not work well. They then said that the only solution was to repaint the whole car. I have let this aesthetic flaw slide all of these years. Car could benefit from a re-paint as the original paint is 34 years old. I do have two original Sonett III side mirrors (included) that need to be repainted and attached and it does need a new piece of carpet for the rear deck...........Car has not been used during the last four years due to health reasons (this is the ONLY reason I am selling). When I first parked the car, it had just been tuned and new tires had just been put on. The title is clear, it has a variety of manuals from Jack Ashcraft, and it has a variety of spare parts. Always started at least once a month and constantly fires right up. Battery is brand new.........Just give this great Sonett a full service and a fresh tank of gas and it should be good to go..............................................................................................................................................................It is a fun little car with an exotic look that always turns heads wherever it goes!!!!
