| Hopefully this will be the last of my Shelbys that I will have to sell now. I purchased this beautiful car approx 5 years ago from Fraser Dante in Atlanta. It had been restored by a local guy in that area and looks as good now as it did then. I have kept it in a climate controlled building only driving it to local shows and cruise ins. It always draws a croud wherever I go. It needs nothing but a new owner.
The exterior looks great and has a like new shine. I recently was able to replace the chrome eyebrow molding on the front extensions as these were not available when the car was restored. There are no dings or dents in the exterior and unlike alot of the Shelbys the hood and trunk lids fit great. Looking down both sides they are laser straight. THERE IS NO RUST ON THIS CAR. The underside looks as great as the top. The guy who restored it put the correct stickers and paint markings on it too. There are two small hairline cracks in the paint on the hood. I tried to take a picture but it would not even show up. The engine compartment is nicely detailed. Everything is correct and looks fresh. The tires are as new. I recently was able to obtain a correct inflatable spare for the car along with the air canister and tiedown. It needs a little tlc but makes the trunk look better and more correct.
The engine runs great and does not knock rattle or smoke. It drives great and has a great deep sound to it. The automatic tranny shifts great and goes through all gears perfect and is easy to steer with power steering. All known mechanics are perfect. It is a great cruiser.
The interior looks great as well. The seats have no rips or tears and the carpet looks new. The dash is great and all gauges work as they should. The door panels are showing some age and I will include a new set that I have purchased and have not installed yet. the radio is not factory but it sounds good. It is an aftermarket radio. The glove box has been signed by the man Carroll Shelby himself.
I do have a Marti Report and it in the Shelby Registry.
Now for the coolest thing. According to the Marti Report it breaks down as follows.
2366 1969 Shelbys built
1402 were GT500
1157 were fastbacks
709 were automatics
31 were Grabber Orange What an awesome color
21 Had Black Interiors
2 Had Power Ventilation
1 Had 3.50 Track-Lok Rear axle
This is that one car!!!!!!!!!!!! How rare is that.
Don't let this one get away. Now is the time to buy. A few years ago this was a 150,000 car and it will be again. My loss is your gain. I also have some rare order sheets that I purchased from Marti Works. Theses kinda documents only add to the value of the car.
