Studebaker : Avanti R-3 Restored 1964 Avanti W/ Factory R-3 Engine-B103

A  extremely rare classic performance Avanti like this one does not come to market very often. This car started as a fully restored  1964 White Avanti R-2 that was in excellent condition. I had purchased a completely rebuilt factory  R-3 (B103) supercharged engine from Nimesh Solanki that came out of a barn find in New Jersey. Nimesh did the complete engine swap/upgrade in his shop and his attention to detail is amazing. This completely original engine had under 12k mileage when it was completely dissassemled and rebuilt by Nimesh. Engine was and still is like new and is currently breaking in as I put the vehicle up for sale. Run under 1000 miles since rebuild.

When mated to a 4-speed, the performance is amazing. The car started as automatic equipped, I have the build sheet, but was converted to a factory 4-speed during the complete restoration. The body/paint is perfect with few of the normal fiberglass waves and the chrome and glass are excellent. Car is equipped with the rare tilt wheel that has been recovered in leather, and has new carpet and completely new weatherstripping.

Car was upgraded with classic Rader wheels with redline tires. Frame and undercarriage were completely restored and detailed with no evidence of rust ever present. The car drives like it looks and can be heard on You Tube by looking up Avanti R3 and see Nimesh running the engine. Added additional electric radiator fan for  traffic conditions but car never runs over 180 degrees. Car has power steering and traction control and the only change was to lower the rear end ratio to 3.33.1 for lower rpm at 60 mph. I have the original higher gears that I will include with the purchase.

All factory guages work including the clock. Car has rare  working AM/FM radio and windshield washers. Always garaged and covered!

As of November 7th I have tried to exchange pictures to show undercarriage and hog troughs.  I am not having success but if you e-mail me I will directly send them to you. These is no rust present and there has never been rust on the car.
