This piggy is a one owner, with low original miles, mostly original paint, and very little rust. The roof (NO RUST, EVER) was repainted by the original selling dealership a few months after it was purchased to keep the interior cooler. The frame was coated at the dealership (pre-purchase), and is nothing short of spectacular. The drivers side fender, and one of the rear doors were painted many years ago due to dings, scratches, and such. As most of you know, all FJ55's have a huge propensity to rust, but this 31 year old has held up remarkably well. The bit of rust that is does have is well documented in the pictures, and almost entirely confined to the bottom portions of the two front guards (about the size of a 50 cent piece). The interior is in very good shape with the exception of the drivers bench bottom, which has several splits along the seams. The rear cargo area is probably the cleanest I have ever seen, and even the side panels (considering their composition) are way above average. The custom roof rack, ladder, and rear bumper (all hot dipped galvanized) were fabricated and installed about 7 years ago, and look new. The split rims and tires are in excellent shape, with the tires (matching) having atleast 65% tread remaining. Mechanically, it runs extremely well, as there are NO leaks, drips, or seepage anywhere. However, I just noticed that a negligible (you literally have to stand next to the tail pipe at just the right angle to notice) amount of smoke exits the tail pipe at startup (particularly after the vehicle has been sitting for a extended period of time). I have been told that this is due to worn valve stem seals, but I obviously do not know this to be a fact. Still, I would not hesitate to jump in this cruiser, and drive it anywhere, as I have had it for several months, and never even noticed it.
This cruiser has a clear Florida title.
