Unfortunately, the FJ62 didn't sell. A few bidders asked me what I would take for it, but I don't have to sell it. However, I am not going to use it and it's taking up shop space. Therefore I am relisting it. I've changed just a few items and really want it to go to a home.
Call me Central time at 405-833-9666. I'll tell you like it is. I don't want to dick around, so don't call me unless you are seriously going to bid. I would guess there is $25,000 invested in the truck and it will out work most vehicles including those weenie Jeeps (which I own and am ashamed to still have).
I've taken it off road about 3 times, once in the mud, in the sand, and deer hunting (which is just an excuse to try and get stuck).
IT EVEN FITS IN A standard garage! Yes, there is no problem driving into my garage. The lift is about 5" overall and 35" tires and it still fits nicely under the door.
ITS A GREAT TRUCK. If it doesn't sell this time around, I am driving it to Mexico and tearing the living crap out of it. Then I'll put it back on EBAY and tell you all of the story the truck and I went through. At least then I'll get my moneys worth.
I bought this incredibly built rig in November from a guy in Washington. I found out it was built by someone in the Northwest, Oregon I believe, and he did an absolutely perfect job. I love the truck and would keep it, but I have other ideas and plans in life and am going to sell it. I paid $12,000 plus in November 2007 and since then I have added a few items.
This truck will take you anywhere. I drove it back from Washington to Oklahoma without a hitch. I bought it with about 198K miles. That says a lot to me about the quality. In the past 6 months I've driven it 9,000 miles and loved every minute. Let me run down the list of some great improvements that's been made before and after I've owned it. BY THE WAY....
Driving down the highway it's like any other car. I'll put it against most trucks handling. Handles great and for the age, tires and engine, very quiet. I drive an F150 to work and wish I could drive this, but it's a little to COOL for city folk.
The paint is mostly original. I pulled out a few dents in the front left fender, rear left quarter panel, right front door and hood. The body is filled and ready for sanding and paint. I was sure not to have any dents deeper than 1/8 or so. I pulled, hammered and dollied out most dents, so its ready for sanding and paint. Absolutely NO RUST. There werea few spots of SURFACE RUST not bigger than a pea encompassing about 2" in radius on the back bottom of the left rear quarter. I sanded it down to bare metal, filled and primed the area. Other than that area, I haven't found a single spot of rust on the body. Absolutly clean.
The speedometer is off from the gear change. So it needs to go to a speed shop for corrections. I've been able to gage the speed pretty well, so I haven't given it much concern accept the miles will be packed on a little quicker than normal.
