When I bought this Cruiser over a decade ago it was a typical rust bucket with some redeeming features (76' and newer included niceties like 4 speed tranny, disc brakes, vent windows on hard top, etc.). It was a good platform for me to start my frame off restoration. In the following years I have invested over $25,000 in parts with very little spent on labour as I did most of it myself. The vehicle was appraised at $25,000 and has been used almost exclusively as a summer toy ever since, excluding those winter days where there is a fresh foot of snow to go play in. The paint is 7 years old and showing its age along the lower panels because my painter failed to paint the lower seam, a glaring mistake which has allowed the rust to migrate up. This rust is displayed in the pics. Pictured is the worst of it, but it is just surface rust as ALL panels from the firewall back are new and over gauged from stock. The only other body damage is on the drivers side engine bay vent, which is relatively minor. The motor is a re-manufactured Chevy 350 V8 crate motor, with a fuel Injected programmable throttle body. The computer is inside under the dash, with MSD ignition, flat top pistons, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan cooling. The Landcruiser puts out about 285 HP. I also installed 4 wheel disc brakes, 3 Inch Magnaflow custom stainless exhaust, 4 inch over stock height Terrain Tamer suspension from Australia, Chevy Power Steering with collapsible steering rod, freshly rebuilt transfer case and solid 4 speed stock transmission, all rolling on 35 inch Pro-Comp rubber with only minor wear. Last year I replaced the frame with a beautifully restored one and beefed everything up with extra gusseting. I had the entire frame sandblasted and painted with Epoxy, and I added an ARB bull bar. In the tail gate are two amplifiers which power the two 10 inch subs and two 6x9's located on the roll bar. The sound system pumps pretty good but there is no CD player as in the summer i run only a soft top, and thus run an MP3 player which plugs right in at the dash.
Here is a list of stuff which accompanies the vehicle if sold:
-Auto meter temperature gauge in box
-Front axle rebuild kit (new retail $250)
-Bikini Top & Front bib( never used)
-Stainless Pro Comp off road lamps
-Recovery gear, (straps, snatch block, Jack all 36 Inch, clevises etc)
-Tow bar which adapts to front ARB bull bar
-odds n ends (stainless bolts, Grade 8 bolts, lens covers, new bulbs for whole vehicle)
The vehicle is a daily driver and if driven nicley gets approx. 14 mpg in the city and about 16 on the highway travelling at 65 mph @ 2500 rpm, 70 mph the revs are still under 3000 rpm. Gearing is 3.70 with 4th gear as 1:1 ratio and 35 inch rubber. The cooling system works beautifully, I pulled my 20 foot ski boat in the summer with no problems with over heating. The vehicle is just solid and almost in new condition, there are numerous pictures of the restoration and reciepts which will accompany the vehicle. I reserve the right to remove vehicle from listing at anytime as it is for sale locally, can negotiate delivery outside of Canada. On 15-May-08 at 13:57:17 EDT, seller added the following information:I thought i should mention that there is approximately 30 000 kilometers on the vehicle since the restoration, since the frame was replaced maybe 5000 km. The stainless exhaust was put on at the same time as the frame as well as, new rear tail lights, new clutch slave, water pump and Carter electric fuel pump. As well the hard top was finished only a few years ago and as well received all new gaskets & seals. Everything on the vehicle looks stock and works great, if the paint was not an issue I would have reserved the price much higher but I figured I have alloted in my starter price more than enough just to get the bids moving and the new paint to make it perfect. Thanks, and good luck bidding all.
On 16-May-08 at 19:28:14 EDT, seller added the following information:I guess i should mention that I worked at www.4wheelauto.com which supplies high quality Land Cruiser parts new, used and after market; thus most of the parts I purchased were at cost and in some cases 10% over cost. Most of the parts which I specked are Toyota original including, gaskets, front fenders, and various drive line components. The clutch is a high torque Center Force Clutch which probably hasn't been broken in and the drive shafts were balanced and weighted even though they are at stock angles, bottom line, unlike a spring over suspension, the vehicle drives no matter in what condition like it is stock, the tires tuck in under the wheel wells with no rubbing, and there is no vibration in the 4 wheel drive. My one goal with this vehicle was to create a daily driver with no head aches, and over the coarse of the years I finally achieved this at great expense not reflected in the price, that's it, I'm gonna take a huge hit on the sale of this but I figured I should mention these last few things before I let this sweet ride go for what seems too little...oh well...as the saying goes, the journey was more monumental than the achievement.
