1973 Triumph Spitfire. Strong running drivetrain, last owner said engine had about 15k on a rebuild, body in decent to poor rust condition. Frame is good. Bought this car with the plan to restore like I did a 1964 Spit over 25 years ago. Too many projects in the way and as you might see in the background, a 1964 Galaxie 500 that will be my main focus. I have all interior pieces except maybe the carpet, will double check. I also have the luggage rack that mounts on the trunk and it is in good shape
Would make a good parts car as the drive train is solid, if I had the time I would pull the engine and tranny and sell seperately. Can provide compressoin numbers upon request.
I have a notorized title, title # North Carolina 776173062792145 VIN FM37734
I'm leaving the state on june 2nd for a month, I would like the car out of my yard by then. Thanks

The engine, tranny and rearend are in good condition. This car will run. It ran when I bought it six months ago, started right up and burned NO OIL, shifted fine.
I towed it home because it was not registered, the brakes needed work, and the interior was not installed.
When I got home I did a compression check on all four cylinders and was satisfied that the motor was sound. I later found out that a fellow spitfire enthusiast had the motor rebuilt about 15k ago. The man I bought it from was like me, wanted to restore it but had too many other projects (and Honey Do's) in the way, so the car is up for sale.
To make this car SAFE FOR YOU AND THE ROAD you will have to clean and balance the carbs, check the brakes, install new floor pans and flush the gas tank.
You will have to tow this car home!!!!! On May-19-08 at 10:55:03 PDT, seller added the following information:Compression test today revealed 135-140 on all cylinders. Shot some gas in carbs and the car fired up. Carbs will need to be cleaned as this car has sat for a long time. Fuel pump was gumed up but I'm in the process of cleaning it out. |
