Let me tell you, it is not cheap to make a TR6 be as good as this.
About $3000 went into the wire wheels when they were bought. A bit more than that went into the mechanica re-freshening ($3900). Another $5000 into the paint and body. Then the car was gone through electricaly and all functions were checked. The interior was made look right, and a new Old Stock radio was installed ($2900). This does not include the price of the car. Why am I selling this jewel of a car then? I am moving back to my home in Greece and the car collection had to be liquidated. The TR6 is the last one in the bunch. I was hoping to be able to keep it but it will not be possible. You can be sure I am selling this car a LOSS, but what can you do?
Therefore; the auction has NO RESERVE.
I also have Italian cars, some people love them, some people hate them. no matter. When I drive the TR6; EVERYONE Loves it. I don't know what it is about this car. Girls love it, young guys love it; Construction workers Always stop working and wave. Cops love it, (they don't like me in Alfas let me tell you). This car makes people remember their Dad's cool British car; and if not; they see the TR6 lettering and they know the car has power enough for anything, so it's a tough guy car as well.
If you are a car person; YOU LOVE THIS CAR!
Clear Pensylvania Antique title in hand. Car is located in Philadelphia, right next to the Art Museum. Serious Bidders, Please email to make appointment to look at; or Have the car looked at before you bid. Your bid is a contract, and since there is NO RESERVE, there will be a Winner, and that person will be the proud owner of this TR6.
Good Luck!
Disclaimer: The bothersome, but necessary, legal disclaimers. Because some people feel that a classic car should be just like a new one, I find it necessary to include the following language in our auction, so that those foolishly naive people can be fairly warned not to have unreasonable expectations. The above mentioned vehicle to the very best of our ability. I love cars of all kinds and types and it shows in how positively I write my auctions. However, as with all pre-owned automobiles, condition is subjective, so I recommend that the potential buyer fly out to inspect the vehicle before finalizing purchase. Like any auction anywhere, all vehicles are sold in "AS IS" condition. It would be an error to assume otherwise, either in my ads or anybody else’s ads run on eBay. Please be advised that any oral statements concerning any vehicle do not constitute a representation or warranty of the condition of said vehicle. The vehicle mileage is represented “to the best of our knowledge as given by the previous owner” and is not guaranteed. Pennsylvania law says that any vehicle over 25 years old be sold “mileage exempt.” All used vehicles should be assumed to have some degree of wear. I the seller, do not manufacture these vehicles. Each vehicle brand has its strengths, styles, tendencies, and shortcomings. Therefore, despite my best efforts to verify a vehicle's mechanical condition, i am not able to warranty any manufacturer’s workmanship or a previous owner’s diligence of care. It is for this reason that all vehicles are sold "AS IS" and there are no mechanical guarantees or warranties either expressed or implied. If these conditions are not comfortable for you, please don’t bid on this auction.
On a happy note: Here is a video of this Roadster going throught the gears, showing the Instruments come alive, and the smooth, solid ride and handling.
