You are bidding on a 1971 Super Beetle that I purchased several months ago with the intent of restoring. The goal was to fix up the little bug so we could save on gas running the kids around town. However, I was deterred into buying a 73 convertible which I restored instead. This car is definately restorable it just needs a little work. I've only owned the car for a few months and have had success with it. With a little time and a new starter, battery cable and battery, I was able to get the car running. I've stripped down the interior to start replacing the floor pans when I started the new project. Let me tell you the good and the bad.
The GOOD: Body is in great shape, couple little dents but no rot. The bug has good glass. The electrical system is working, I started the car from the key and the lights, wipers etc all worked. The engine runs. Bidding on this car you also get another 1600cc engine complete, extra rims and good tires, 2 additonal doors and a decklid. New Starter, Battery, and Floor pans (not installed).
The BAD: Car needs a paint job, floor pan replacement, driver side heater channel bad, needs brakes, interior needs to be redone.
I need to get this car out of my yard before my wife disowns me. I've spent a bunch of time and money on this little bug and my loss is your gain. If you have any additional questions let me know.
Buyer is responsible for the pickup or shipment of the car and parts. $100 deposit due with 48 hours of the close of auction.
LOW RESERVE, solely to limit my losses.
