For sale is a great driving, good looking 1987 Californian VW Westfalia poptop full camper. DESCRIPTION; Sleeps 4 in two beds. Has a automatic transmission and a 2.1 liter water cooled 4 cylinder engine. Van has a 3-way fridge, twin stoves and a sink. Have mesh for rear door. Kenwood Radio/CD player. Van is fitted with factory A/C but is not currently working, might just need a charge. Dual heaters. power steering and power windows. Registered in Ca till march 2009. EXTERIOR: Van looks very good. Paint is very good. No damage. Can't see any rust on van. Tires are mounted on Merceded CLK rims with 205 tires for better road holding. Skylight on top has some masking tape on side, does not leak. INTERIOR: Looks very clean. Dash is good. Carpets are good, Front seats are good, Rear seats good. Poptop tent is original and has a patch on passenger side. Cabinets are good. Overall nice for age. Sink works. Propane tank under van needs the valve changed as it leaks, it cost's about $70. Curtains are missing but a new set is $170 from www.gowesty.com. MECHANICALLY: Van is running good with no known problems. Engine runs strong. Transmission shifts nicely. Top half on engine including heads was rebuilt just 15K miles ago, and at the same time the transmission was rebuilt. New catalitic converter. Does not pull to any side. Van is ready for a trip.
These vans are increasing in value every year due to there rareness now, specially the later models like this 1987. They do about 20 mpg and can be parked nearly anywhere as they are not classed as a RV. I have tried to explain the van as best as I can, but do bear in mind it is a 21 year old van and not perfect.
