Up for auction is a 1947 WIllys CJ-2A. It has a clear Wisconsin title but it is titled as a 1960 CJ-5. This Willys was completely tore down to the frame about 12 years ago and professionally rebuilt. The 1960 CJ-5 frame number matches the title. Odometer actually shows about 5,800 but I'm listing this as under 10,000 miles because of tire size.
Drivetrain is a rebuilt Buick 231 cu. in. V-6 with a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic transmission. Engine has an HEI distributor. It has a Lokar street rod shifter. Carburetor is a Holley 390 cfm four barrel on a 4.1 Buick aluminum intake. Heads and intake are port matched. It has fender well headers and dual exhaust.
It has Jeep Wagoneer power steering and it has a new 11" drum brake conversion. Transfer case is a Dana 18 twin stick. Front axle is a Dana 27 with open 5.38 gears. Rear axle is a Dana 44 with open 5.38 gears. It has new 3" leaf springs all around from a CJ-7 Jeep with a reverse shackle kit in the front. Tires are 34-9.5 Super Swamper TSL's.
The original 1960 CJ-5 body was replaced with the 1947 Willys CJ-2A. The windshield is from a CJ-3A. This was a frame off rebuild with everything sand blasted and painted inside and out including the frame. The floors were replaced with heavy gauge steel but the rest of the body was very solid and has no patches.
It has been very dependable and really drives great!!! It never runs hot and always starts first try. You can drive it down the highway at 65mph with one hand on the wheel- it's the best driving jeep I've ever owned.
The only reason I'm selling it is I just having too many cars and not enough space. I just finished a 1941 Willys coupe to replace this jeep in my collection. I've tried to represent this as accurately as possible but please look at the pictures and call if you have any questions. 608-873-5264.
This Willys is for sale locally so I'm reserving the right to end the auction at anytime. |
