You are bidding on a 1950 Willys Jeepster which I have owned for over 19 years. This car has never been 100% restored. It does have its share of small nicks and scratches as shown in the pictures. The car has not been in the rain since I have owned it, This is a very presentable car to drive and enjoy in parades, trips to the beach etc. I will try to describe its condition the best as I can.
The Engine Is a F head.
The engine has good compression +/- 110 PSI in each cylinder. It runs and idles well. It has new wiring from the dash board, new carb, fuel pump, coil, and voltage regulator. Also a new 6 volt battery last month.
The Drive Line
The transmission is a three speed and shifts perfectly. The Overdrive has a new electric solenoid and works as it should. It is a pleasure to drive at 60 MPH with the OD Engaged. The drive shaft universals have been replaced. The rear end works well and does not leak any oil. The tires are wide white walls that still look like new. The spare on the back has never been on the road.
Brakes
The car has had new brakes and wheel cylinders .
Body
The body is straight and very presentable. Parts of the car have been repainted prior to my purchase in 1990. It is due for another paint job if you want to show the car in competition. It is 60 years old and has been in and out of my garage 101 times. The bumpers have also been re chromed ,and still look like new.
Top interior and side curtains
The top, padding and side curtains have never been in the rain. They look almost like new. The seats have been covered with the exact same style of vinyl as was on the car when it was new. Black vinyl with white piping. The door panels are the originals which match the rear panels. A black custom fit rug is on the floor since the rubber mats are no longer available. There is also a snap on boot cover which is in perfect shape, it is a little faded from being in the sun on summer days.. The car also has the original side curtain storage holder which is behind the fold down rear seat. Also included is the original bumper jack and the storage bag as shown in one of the pictures.
The steering wheel does not have any cracks.
Electrical 6 volt
Everything electrical on the car works all of the gauges the heater and the lights, horn, etc. ( one of the pictures show all of the gauges with readings at 55 mph) Directional signals have been installed with a buzzer as a reminder to turn them off since it is not automatic turn off. The car did not come with a radio. An aftermarket 12 volt AM FM radio was installed using a 6 volt to 12 volt step up transformer; it works well. The car has all new wiring from the dash board forward to the lights, gauges and engine.
Also included
I have many advertising papers for the Jeepster along with the owners manual. Salesman advertising flyer, Shop Manual, and the parts manual.
I also have a used F Head engine that I purchased on E bay years ago . If you want it, you can have it with the car.
